Petrophysics Laboratory

This laboratory, which located outside of the main PE Building, focused on the measurement of physical characteristics from several synthetic core samples such as porosity, saturation, permeability, capillary pressure, and grain size distribution. This laboratory is used by sophomore students with the assistance of senior students.

This laboratory contains the following major pieces of equipment:

  • 2 PORG Porosimeter

Saturation Measurement

  • 2 Solvent Extractor
  • 2 Electric Heater
  • 1 Oven

Permeability Measurement

  • 2 PERG Gas Permeameter
  • 2 PERL Liquid Permeameter
  • 1 Volumetric Measurement System

Capillary Pressure Measurement

  • 1 Mercury Injector
  • 1 Mercury Picnometer

Grain Size Distribution Measurement

  • 1 Mechanical Shaker
  • 1 Set of Sieves
